So, Chris Jericho, man of many talents, is involved with a brand new project from The YOMYOMF Network! The project? A YouTube mini series called "Jon Davis Gets A Sex Robot".
The title is self-explanatory.
I gotta say, this bizarre little show appeals to the twisted side of my personality, and after watching the first two episodes (webisodes?), I'm hooked!
The most recent episode featured Mr Jericho as Rob, Jon Davis' sex obsessed buddy. The guy has a mouth that would make a sailor blush - and possibly enough... erm... enthusiasm... to require the sex robot to need re-programming! (Seriously, watch it!)
Jericho throws out some exceptional lines during Episode 2. I feel "Jizz It Up, Bro," is about to become one of those classic lines amongst those in the know, and will adorn t-shirts across the world! You really do need to check this out if you like twisted, and aren't easily offended. DO NOT WATCH if you're sensitive because your ears will bleed. :p
As great as the guys are in this show, I wanna also give a HUGE shoutout to Riki Lindhome because the dry humour she brings as Layla is perfect.
I feel like this in spirit - 3 hours sleep means I can barely lift my eyelids, let alone shake it like a polaroid picture! :p
SO, I did it again, Fozzy VIP round two, and oh my goodness...
Right from the beginning, everything went perfectly. We were met by the VIP rep, Scott, and the fun began. There were jokes, high fives, some banter about English accents/words, and the kind of chatter you usually have with people after you've known them a while - not just five minutes. No disrespect to the last rep because he did his job well, BUT Scott made us all feel SO welcome by being as hyped as we were, and not being afraid to have a bit of fun with us! Having him around really set the night off to a great start.
VIP Swag (We weren't allowed to take Scott :p )
At dinner, all the guys from Fozzy were on top form, and the level of nerves around the table from the VIPers was significantly lower this time. Maybe because three of us had done it before, so instead of meeting them and thinking, "OH MY GOD I'M EATING WITH FOZZY!!" it was like catching up with friends! Props to them, they remembered those of us who were there last time, and welcomed the newbies with enthusiasm!
It was much easier to move around and talk to everyone this time, and I was ecstatic that I finally got to spend time chatting to Rich Ward. The man is not only a legend, but one of the most genuinely sweet guys I've ever been lucky enough to meet. I also met Billy Grey for the first time, and talked to Paul Di Leo a bit more. Honestly, all the guys are absolutely amazing but I'm a big Frank Fontsere fan! I may have exceeded some kind of daily hug limit, but I think that's okay...hopefully. :D
I got me a signed Frank drumstick!
Okay... moving on to the gig!
I don't know how it's possible, but Fozzy get better and better every time I see them. I thought they were at the top of their game in December, but they continue to prove me wrong. They were louder, wilder, sharper, more energetic than before and the crowd were more than happy to scream and shout their enthusiasm.
Fozzy's set included songs from Sin and Bones, including their first ever live performance of Shine Forever, plus the ever catchy She's My Addiction, and fan favourite, Sandpaper. One of the best responses of the night came during God Pounds His Nails, at which point the crowd nearly ripped the roof off the White Rabbit!
Jericho continues to be an exceptional frontman, and with such unmistakable onstage chemistry between the band, it's easy to see why fans keep coming back for more.
Anyone who is waiting to see Fozzy on this tour is in for an awesome time because they are rocking harder than ever, so you'd better be ready for it! There are still VIP tickets, and gig tickets available here.
Now, on the night, I took a bunch of photos and videos, but for unknown reasons, my camera decided to stop recording sound which made the videos useless. To make up for it, I put together this little video montage so those videos weren't a total waste! (If you don't hear sound on this, let me know, but it's working for me!)
It's been a while since I did a Fozzy post, so I'm back with a little geekery for you, based on the question they asked on their Facebook page yesterday!
They wanted to know which songs the fans want to hear on their UK/European Tour in April. Because I am a gigantic dork, I was curious to see what everyone wanted, so I may have added up the votes to find out! (Told you I was a dork!)
Here are the results: Sandpaper - 5 votes Enemy - 4 votes Spider In My Mouth - 3 votes Let The Madness Begin - 3 votes Wanderlust - 2 votes Dark Passenger - 2 votes
and a bunch of songs with 1 vote: Fairies Wear Boots Where Eagles Dare With The Fire Storm The Beaches Grail Wormwood Don't You Wish You Were Me It's A Lie Broken Soul God Pounds His Nails End Of Days
Obviously, this by no means what ALL fans want to hear, just those who happened to catch the post and take the time to make a suggestion BUT Sandpaper is a clear winner, and Enemy is a song that ALWAYS gets the crowd going!
In an ideal world, everyone would get to hear the brilliance of Storm The Beaches live, but according to iTunes, it's 11 minutes, 35 seconds long! That is one heck of a chunk of their set to take up with one song - though I guess it would make a kickass encore!
I gotta say, I think the top voted songs are bang on, and I really, truly think every show should open with Let The Madness Begin - what a way to get people pumped up! So if we take those top 6 songs voted for by the fans (still a bit iffy on Wanderlust. It is one of my favourites, but there are so many other kick ass songs I'd prefer to hear live), I'd like to add my own personal choices.
Broken Soul - not only one of my favourite Fozzy songs, but ranking high on my favourite songs of all time. Ever. It's stunning. God Pounds His Nails - Ultimate song to get people rocking Eat The Rich - as above She's My Addiction - erm, as above again Inside My Head - a little bit of gentle after all the jumping around
Eh, who am I kidding? If I had my way, the guys would perform every song they've ever recorded at some kind of super gig! :p But as that's unlikely, I'll stick with the picks above!
Speaking of Fozzy in the UK... have you got your tickets yet? If not, I strongly advise you getting your metal-loving hands on them before they sell out! You can get them here.
I'll leave you with this video of Fozzy's recent performance at Soundwave, Australia. Come on peeps, how could you not want to see these boys live?! (P.S There are lots of flashing lights in this video! You have been warned!)
BUT, I wanted to share some more Fozzy awesome with you - in the form of Frank Fontsere. For those of you who don't know, Frank is Fozzy's drummer, and earlier this week, he took to his Facebook page to let everyone know about his kickass YouTube channel.
If you haven't checked it out before, you are seriously missing out. Not only will you find some cool Fozzy stuff, you'll also find a bunch of amazing drum covers.
Check this out for an example of his skill:
This just makes me wanna learn how to play the drums! (I'm pretty sure playing drums on Guitar Hero isn't QUITE the same thing :p)
According to Frank's FB page, there will be more drum covers posted in the coming weeks, so keep watching. I am particularly fond of the cover of Weezer's "Buddy Holly" :D To see more, subscribe to Frankplaysdrums on YouTube.
Also this week, the promo for Chris Jericho's new TV show, "Robot Combat League" was released! More about that will follow soon.
(I totally just did this! Well, not just, I've had this post scheduled for hours because I didn't want to announce it before the band. But Rich Ward just posted, so we're good to go!)
Yup, yup! If you follow Fozzy on Twitter, you'll have spotted them teasing us about big news! The date Jan 15th was hashtagged, and thus, I have been bouncing up and down all day waiting for the news to come out about what Fozzy has in store for us in April!

Yes, that is uber excitement you see up there in the title! Looky what Chris Jericho tweeted!
If any of you caught their European tour at the end of last year, you'll know how absolutely epic it was! Granted, I only caught one date, but I know there are some people who were lucky enough to got to more. I hope to be one of those lucky people next time around, but we'll see!
Anyway, I know this isn't a whole lot of info to get excited about just yet, but it's exciting that there's exciting news on the way! (Forgive me, I throw my thesaurus away when I'm .... erm ... you know!) :D Plus - this gives me time to finally learn all the words to "Sandpaper" :p
I leave you with this - Enemy performed in December in Plymouth!
I’m going to be honest. I’m probably not the kind of person you’d usually expect to find hanging out at a rock gig. Anyone who follows my writing blog will know I love a bit of cheesy pop, but truthfully, more than anything, I just love great music, whatever genre.
This brings me to The White Rabbit in Plymouth. For many years I’ve been a huge Fozzy fan, and when I heard they were going to be playing there, I hopped in line to get my VIP ticket, and holy crap, it was worth every single penny.
Not only was the gig amazing (more on that in a second), the VIP experience is really not to be missed. Dinner with the band is like getting a really tasty starter before an even more incredible main course. Chris Jericho and the boys made an effort to make everyone feel included in the conversations, which helped relax the VIP'ers who were a bit nervous. It's little things like this that make people want to go back and do it over and over again.
Now, onto the gig. Breed 77 and Soil also played – shoutout to the boys of Soil who ate dinner with us after Fozzy had to go get ready for their set, and were super cool – and both bands kicked ass. However, the crowd went batshit freaking crazy when Fozzy hit the stage. Chris Jericho might just be the most charismatic frontman of recent years. He whips fans into a frenzy with his boundless, unwavering enthusiasm and his strong passion for the music. He feeds off the energy from the audience, so you can bet the louder you shout, the higher you jump, and the more lyrics you belt out along with him, he will not only match it, but he’ll take it a step further. It’s this level of showmanship that made him great as a WWE superstar, and is what makes him so captivating to watch as Fozzy’s main man.
As much as I would love to witter on about how goddamn brilliant Jericho is, it would be blatantly wrong not to talk about the sound created by the group as a whole. Rich Ward is a LEGEND – not to mention in the freezing December chill, everyone was totally jealous of his warm scarf and headgear ;) – and the passion coming from Billy Grey on guitar was mesmerising. From my slightly awkward view of the stage, I could hardly see Frank and Paul, but there was no problem hearing them and all together, it was like being transported to rock heaven.
They say you never forget your first time. Minds out of the gutters, people! :p Aside from the musical brilliance, there are two things that will always, always stay with me about my first Fozzy experience. Firstly, how incredibly laid back the VIP meeting was (even though I’m gutted I didn’t get quite enough time to talk to Rich Ward and only managed to sort of babble my way through talking to Chris Jericho, I’m not usually so inarticulate!) Secondly, the awesomeness that is Frank Fontsere, who caught me in a moment of overwhelmed freaked-outness and stopped to give me a hug, even though he was just about to go on stage. That, my friends, pretty much made my night! Thank you, Frank!
If any of y’all have ever heard that Fozzy is coming to your town, and debated whether to buy a ticket, stop the questions and just do it. Get to the front of the queue, and get your ass to the gig because I can assure you, they will give you an experience you will never forget.
